Food marketing hype, we see it everyday on tv, magazine advertisements and even billboards. You would think with the current growing interest in GMO labeling and so-called artificial sweeteners, there would be a corresponding food transparency campaign among well known restaurants. But common sense connected to doing what is right, is treated more like taboo today.
In her article - What Papa John's Doesn't Want You to Know About Their Food - Melanie Warner reveals the odd resistance taken by well known restaurants to simply provide the ingredients used in their foods. It seems Applebee's, Cheesecake Factory, and Chili's, among others - just don't want to let their customers know exactly what they are eating. Why not? If fast food chains like McDonald's, Taco Bell and Subway, can voluntarily provide their ingredients, then what is the problem?
